THE GONSTEAD METHOD
Benalla Chiropractic Centre’s Toby Fraser is a chiropractic practitioner applying the principles of The Gonstead Method of Chiropractic.
The Gonstead Method, or The Gonstead System, is a method of chiropractic requiring a comprehensive examination of the spine and nervous system that focuses on locating and correcting subluxations of the spine.
GONSTEAD PRINCIPLES
The Gonstead Method consist of 6 important principles:
These 6 principles are the basis for a Gonstead Chiropractor establishing where the nerve pressure is originating from, allowing the delivery or the required adjustments to alleviate pressure and pain, thereby restoring communication between the body and the brain, resulting in normal function. It is this communication, which is no longer interrupted that is the foundation of chiropractic and the success of The Gonstead Method
HISTORY
Named after chiropractic practitioner. Dr. Clarence Gonstead, who developed the method, it evolved through Dr. Gonstead applying the principles of his mechanical engineering skills to the biomechanics of the human spine and nervous system.
Dr Gonstead founded a chiropractic clinic at Mt Horeb, Wisconsin in the United States of America that treats patients from all around the world in need of alleviation from pain and suffering.
In 1990 The Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia) was founded in order to promote and educate members and chiropractors wishing to advance their skills of the Gonstead System of Chiropractic to students in Australia through a number of undergraduate and postgraduate courses and seminars.
“Find the subluxation, Accept it where you find it, Correct it, and leave it alone”
